Track 1 BugHunting : Shortlisting Round Guidelines

Welcome to the Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025 - Track1 Bug Hunting - Shortlisting Round. This round is a Boot to Root type of CTF Competition, where participants will solve a series of cybersecurity challenges across multiple categories. The event is designed to test your problem-solving skills and technical expertise in a competitive environment.

Please find the details for the evaluation round below:
Date: 22nd September 2025
Start Time: 11:00 AM IST
Duration: 6 hours

Please note that unless specified otherwise, the flag format is TCQ2025{} . Participants are expected to adhere to the following guidelines for a smooth and fair competition.

  • This Boot2Root CTF is designed to test your skills in enumeration, exploitation, and privilege escalation. Please do not bypass the intended flow by modifying GRUB, using recovery mode, or directly mounting the VM disk to extract flags. Such shortcuts defeat the purpose of the challenge and may lead to disqualification as top scorers will be asked to submit their Proof-of-Concept(PoC)/Walkthrough document which is an essential part of the shortlisting round. Play fair and follow the intended path.
  • All participants must provide truthful and accurate information during registration.
  • Do not share or solicit flags. Strive to do your best on your own.
  • Multiple accounts for a single participant are prohibited.
  • Keep your contact information up-to-date throughout the competition.
  • Generating excessive load on the system is strictly forbidden.
  • Malicious activity targeting the challenge infrastructure will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Use of unlawful or misleading practices will not be tolerated.
  • Participants found violating the terms and conditions will be disqualified without prior notice.
  • In case of any disputes, the decision of the jury will be final and binding.
  • The organizers reserve the right to modify the terms and conditions at any time.

Note: Teams must be formed on the CTF portal using the same details submitted during initial registration on https://www.cyberchallenge.in/tcq2025. All team members must register with their previously provided email IDs. Changes, replacements, or additions to team members will not be permitted. Any team found violating this rule will be disqualified, even if they are on top of the leaderboard.

We wish all participants the best of luck. Show your skills, solve challenges, and make the most of this opportunity. Happy CTFing!

Best regards,
Team Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025
